With plenty of suspense, intrigue and action from New York Times bestselling author Terri Blackstock, the newest addition to the Intervention Series is full of choices that could change lives forever…

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
As one of my favorite suspense authors, though this book was published years earlier, I decided to read it while I wait for her newest book. Continuing with previous characters yet valid as a stand-alone as well, Vicious Cycle was well worth the time. Full of current topics albeit difficult ones, they were well handled and contributed to the storyline. With the pages turning quickly, needing to read just one page, I finished it in record time. As I wait, I will search for more of this author’s previous works, liking every one of them thus far.

If I’m Found

Blackstock, Terri. If I’m Found: If I Run Series- Book 2. Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan Publishing. 2017.

SUMMARY:
Casey Cox is still on the run, hoping not to be found. With Dylan Roberts chasing right on her heels, he might just catch her, but not quite. As the tension continues from If I Run, book 1 of the If I Run series, Casey finds herself facing yet another injustice involving a small child. Though unwilling to be caught, she cannot bear to ignore the situation, resulting in even more dangerous circumstances. As the suspense mounts, the danger increases, the characters become desperate and the plot thickens, best-selling author Terri Blackstock doesn’t back down…

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
Not being able to turn the pages fast enough nor keep the midnight oil burning long enough, I just had to finish this fast-paced, action-packed, suspense-filled novel. Riveting characters coupled with great writing make this quite the thriller. Touching on difficult issues between the hide-and-seek, some may find it hard to read. Having read If I Run and waiting for If I’m Found, I now must (impatiently) wait for the conclusion to the series, If I Live, due out in 2018. Captivating cover, too!

SUMMARY:
Deciding to run rather than be framed for a murder she did not commit, Casey Cox is certain to be scared. Trying hard not to leave any footprints of her direction, Casey doesn’t realize veteran Dylan Robert is almost upon her. While both deal with similar symptoms from their pasts, though only one will win in the end, If I Run sets up the pace perfectly for the characters racing to a finish. Suspense, reality, murder, dysfunction and hope all combine for a thrilling story from New York Times Best-selling author, Terri Blackstock.

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
In a unique manner for this author, If I Run shares the unfolding story from a first-person point of view, alternating between the main characters. With a subtle dose of faith mingled between suspense, action, emotions, mystery and a cliff-hanger at the end, Terri Blackstock does an excellent job of keeping the pages turning quickly while investing the reader emotionally. As the first of a new trilogy, the gracious end notes from the author in this book add even more. Compelling cover too!

SUMMARY:
riversedgeJonathon and Morgan are still reeling from the death of Morgan’s parents when a good friend, Lisa Jackson, is found dead. Lisa’s husband, Ben, who is a candidate in the mayoral race is a prime suspect; however, evidence and suspects continue to surface making an arrest nearly impossible. Foul play, scandal, politics, alleged affairs, a psychic, infertility and secrets all come into play…

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
With an intense murder plot as well as several subplots, River’s Edge just keeps right on moving. Filled with drama, suspense, surprises and faith, I quickly read through this novel. Starting with book 3 in the series, I jumped into the middle but had no problems following the storylines and characters. (The few references to the preceding books did pique my interest enough though to want to read them now.) With some difficult subjects, Terri Blackstock was able to appropriately and sensitively handle and portray them in a careful and faith-filled manner. I also appreciated the location for this novel…Tybee Island (Savannah’s beach); I absolutely love that island!

Distortion

Blackstock, Terri. Distortion. Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan. 2014.

SUMMARY:
distortionWatching her husband murdered in a U-haul parking lot right before her very eyes, Juliet Cole’s life turns upside down. Initially treated as a random shooting, Juliet and her sisters soon discover there may be more…much more…to the act. Could innocence turn to guilt, victim turn to criminal, love turn to hate? All quite possible…

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
With an intensity not found in most books, Distortion opens with a shocking event which only leads to more suspenseful, thrilling and heartbreaking disclosures. With a subtle Christian thread included throughout, Terri Blackstock does a brilliant job of writing with an electrifying purpose; thus, the obvious reason for her New York Times Bestselling Author distinction. As a first-time reader of this author, as well as taking a huge step outside my usual genre, I was not disappointed but instead will avidly read more. As a second installment of a series, having not read the first, I was not in any way confused nor perplexed. Very well done.
