Called to Pray

Shepherd, Linda Evans. Called to Pray: Astounding Stories of Answered Prayer. Grand Rapids, MI: Revell Publishing. 2015.

SUMMARY:
calledtoprayFull of many testimonial stories of people being pressed to pray in different circumstances and situations, author Linda Evans Shepherd shares her own personal recounts of answering the need to pray as well as several others. Broken into categorized sections of prayer (Prayer for Souls, Prayer for Others, Prayer for Trust and Faith), each 3-4 page segment includes a Bible verse, personal story surrounding the need to pray, followed by a prayer. Though not every prayer is answered in the manner prayed for, each prayer included was fulfilled in God’s perfect method. Motivational and inspirational!

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
Having read several of Linda Evans Shepherd’s previous books, I knew this one would be on my want-to-read list. Interesting, prompting, and inspiring, Called to Pray opened my heart and mind to listen to the necessity to pray. I found the style and length of each portion to be very easy to read in pieces or even straight through. Perfect as a gift, devotional or perhaps even a Bible study, Called to Pray was definitely uplifting!
