Sandpiper Cove

Hannon, Irene. Sandpiper Cove: A Hope Harbor Novel. Grand Rapids, MI: Revell Publishing. 2017.

SUMMARY:
Adam Stone is living a more solitary life and is content. As an ex-con, he prefers it that way…that is, until Police Chief Lexie Graham shows up at his door. Investigating a string of crimes, evidence points to a troubled youth, much like Adam Stone in his younger days. Hoping Adam may act as a mentor to the youth, Lexie finds herself more drawn to Adam than she would like to admit. After all, how could a police chief and ex-con ever connect…

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
As a wonderful addition to the Hope Harbor series, Sandpiper Cove was filled with mystery, encouragement, romance and faith while centering around second chances. With an engaging storyline and memorable primary characters supported by interesting secondary characters, Irene Hannon has once again written a novel that is hard to put down. Enjoying this three-time Rita Award winning author already, her newest book only increased and ensured my readability of any future books, including Dangerous Illusions, the first book in her new series releasing in fall of 2017.

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
As one of my favorite suspense writers, Irene Hannon has done it again. She has written yet another book I had trouble putting down.  (I probably should have known to clear my calendar before even picking it up.)  Having read the previous books in this series, I can honestly say Tangled Webs was the best. Not sure how she does it, except that Irene Hannon is very blessed with words. I look forward to her next book, Sandpiper Cove, due out in spring of 2017.

While grieving, Christy receives a letter in the mail in her sister’s handwriting. Determined to find the truth concerning her sister, Christy works with FBI Special Agent, Lance McGregor. While searching for answers, Christy and Lance may discover more than they anticipated while their hearts reveal more as well…

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
As the second book in the Men of Valor series, I have to admit I enjoyed it more than expected. Not usually my top genre pick, the suspense mixed with romance worked very well. Perhaps aimed towards the adult audience (rather than YA) due to the criminal theme, I was certainly glad of the spiritual aspect included. As three brothers formerly involved with the military and now immersed in civilian life, it is definitely a current, contemporary novel. A fast, hard-to-put-down read, author Irene Hannon is truly a fantastic writer. Stunning cover!

Along with a few surprise characters along the way, Michael and Tracy must overcome their pasts, express forgiveness, accept grace and chance their hearts once again…

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
Though not the usual genre from Irene Hannon that I have read previously, I enjoyed this first book in a new series. Romance, humor, forgiveness, pain and mystery all blended for a quick read which I actually found worked. Deeper messages of hope, love and faith also contributed to the novel. Impressed the author can write just as well in a different genre than her suspense novels, I look forward to continuing with the next book in this series, available summer of 2016.

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
Already a fan of Irene Hannon, her newest novel, Buried Secrets, only proved the point. Full of suspense, mystery, adventure, intrigue and a bit of romance, her new series, Men of Valor, will be one I follow. With a different storyline than I have encountered before, this story kept the pages turning, just as expected…this novel would definitely be enjoyed by men and women alike. As Irene Hannon pursues this series, I only hope she continues with her other series concurrently.

Deceived

Hannon, Irene. Deceived. Grand Rapids, MI: Revell Publishing. 2014.

SUMMARY:
deceivedKate Marshall turns to PI Connor Sullivan in the hopes of recovering her young son who she presumed dead in an accident. Is it possible she really saw him at the mall? Is it possible he could still be alive? Is it possible she just may be going crazy? A boating accident, a missing child, a grieving mother and lots of secrets all contribute to a fast-paced story in Deceived

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
I was caught up in the plot from the first few pages and they continued to turn quickly throughout the entire book. I appreciated the overall thought process of God being in control, having a Master Plan for each life and being able to trust in God when no one else on earth could be trusted. The witnessing of God and faith in the book was subtle yet definite. Along with the twists and unexpected turns in the storyline, there was also a new concept I had never considered before and am still pondering. A new author for me, this will definitely not be the last book I read from Irene Hannon. Part of the Private Justice series, I read Deceived out of series order but I was unaware of it until I looked for her other books. A well-written suspenseful Christian novel!
