Haines, Amber C. Wild in the Hollow: On Chasing Desire and Finding the Broken Way Home. Grand Rapids, MI: Revell Publishing. 2015.
In a brutally honest, poignant recollection of her life, author Amber Haines writes of her ongoing battle with Jesus. Growing up in the church yet then turning from it, she discovers God is there all the time, especially in the broken places of life. In a beautiful manner, she shares her personal story of receiving grace and forgiveness while finding God once again…
A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
In an almost poetic verse, Wild in the Hollow was a unique journey to follow with the author…somehow though, it worked. In a very black-and-white way with a bit of grey mixed in at times, the author’s story of finding God in the difficult places when she needed Him most, was quite rewarding. I am certain many women could identify with Amber Haines in some form while growing up, making this a personally relevant story. Definitely a triumphant story of God’s perseverance, Amber Haines now has been entrusted with raising four wild sons.
