Means, Melinda. Helgemo, Kathy. Mothering from Scratch: Finding the Best Parenting Style for You and Your Family. Bloomington, MN: Bethany House Publishers. 2015.
SUMMARY:
With years of experience, Melinda Means and Kathy Helgamo share how to find your own unique mothering style according to the personality of yourself and your children, providing peace and confidence within, all according to God’s unique plan for each individual mother. Mothering from Scratch follows a kitchen theme throughout, providing Lovin’ Spoonfuls portions (tidbits of encouragement), Let’s Get Cookin’ sections (activities to further your style), Stirring Your Thoughts areas (questions for thought), lots of faith-based evidence, personal stories of successes and even mistakes, as well as additional resources at the end.
A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
Well done around a common inspiring theme! I appreciated that both authors stated up front they are not perfect mothers but wish to help mothers learn their God-given uniqueness while giving/ receiving help from others, all while using personal strengths. Though geared towards mothering, this book would be uplifting for all women, no matter where they are in life. Great information definitely worth sharing!!
RATING:
