Cabot, Amanda. At Bluebonnet Lake: Texas Crossroads series. Grand Rapids, MI: Revell Publishing. 2014.
SUMMARY:
High-powered and fast-paced Kate Sherwood can barely slow down her life enough to accept her widowed grandmother’s invite to join her at Rainbow’s End, a resort her grandparents spent a vacation at over fifty years ago. Though changed, the resort still has potential especially when it comes to offering experiences to guests. Perhaps a late-life romance, maybe a slowed-down love interest, and perchance a young lady helping her mom find happiness again…all at Bluebonnet Lake!
A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
As a reader who judges a book by the cover, I am glad I pursued this novel after not finding the cover particularly alluring. As a contemporary Christian romance though, I surprisingly enjoyed it albeit that is not usually my chosen genre. Quite feasibly though, I believe the reason I was drawn into the storyline had to do with the writing style of Amanda Cabot, an author I have not yet read (hard to believe, I know). With a good dose of faith, quite a bit of romance, a few surprises, and the promise of a sequel, I must admit I will return to Bluebonnet Lake, in the heart of Texas.
RATING:
4.5 (out of 5) pennies
