A Table by the Window

tableLodge, Hillary Manton. A Table by the Window. Colorado Springs, CO: WaterBrook Press Publishing. 2014.

A journalist by trade, Juliette D’Alisa is no stranger to the food world. As a food writer, daughter to a French-Italian restaurant owner and a member of a family immersed in the food industry, Juliette is tempted to join her brother in opening a new restaurant when he asks. Part taking risks and part finding her own self, Juliette must consider the consequences involved in such a move. Add to that dilemma secrets uncovered about her late grandmother along with a long distance relationship and quite a recipe for a good culinary novel emerges…

Yet another new author for me, A Table by the Window was a delectable read with delicious fun and a side of mystery thrown in the mix. As a fan of The Food Channel and cooking, this novel proved to be a good extension of my interests. With appetizing recipes included (though a bit involved), this was truly a delight for taste buds. I look forward to reading the next book of the Family Secrets and Heirloom Recipes series as well as the author’s previous Amish novels. Bon Appetit!
